Gurjeet Chima has over 17 years of experience in the media and entertainment sector with specific focus on cross-cultural collaborations & partnerships. As a second generation Indian, she was educated in Hong Kong and advanced her education in Beijing followed by a Master’s Degree at the University of Bath, UK. Being fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Punjabi, she is a multi-lingual professional with outstanding communication skills and rich cross-cultural experience. Gurjeet started her career working at the United Nations as a simultaneous interpreter before moving on to Walt Disney Imagineering in the same role. She has also worked for international corporations such as BBC Studios, Film Business Asia, Variety and is currently the Associate Vice President, International Markets at Penske Media Corporation maintaining and building meaningful global partnerships. Having lived, worked and studied in both the East and the West, her integration of the Eastern ethics of hard work, loyalty, dedication and respect with the Western values of creativity, independence and confidence, means that she has the cultural fluidity to work as an effective bridge between the Western and Eastern cultures in business practices.
